After the migration of Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.), Muslims also
started migrating to Medina. A caravan started from Mecca
towards Medina. A pregnant lady was part of the caravan.
During the journey she gave birth to a child who was deaf,
blind and without any hands or feet. The lady declared that I
am pleased with Allah for the child that he has bestowed me
but I fear that the polytheists of Mecca will mock me by saying
that since I have accepted Islam, I have been given a child like
this. When the caravan reached Medina, it halted at a place and
the travellers went to meet Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.). The
prophet (s.a.w.a.) was pleased to meet them and he (s.a.w.a.)
prayed for them. A member of the caravan mentioned about
the child to the Prophet (s.a.w.a.). He advised her to go home
but to recite salawaat from this place till her house. She did do
and when she reached home she found that her child had been
bestowed with his eyes, ears, hands and feet. The members of
the caravan were overjoyed and they brought the child in the
presence of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.). At that moment Jibrael
descended and said – Just as his child has been cured due to
salawaat, those from your Ummah who will recite salawaat
upon you in this world will be blessed by your intercession in
the hereafter
